1. BA in English Translation

Curriculum Overview

This program offers a practice-driven, up-to-date curriculum that meets the demands of the modern world in the age of AI and digital communication. Students begin with foundational skills and progressively move into specialized, high-demand areas of translation.

Program Structure

  • First Two Semesters (Foundation): Introductory courses including Reading Skills, Grammar, English Lab, English for Special Purposes, and introductory writing.
  • Second Year Onwards (Specialization): Advanced translation courses including Translating Children’s Literature, Legal Translation, Audiovisual Translation (AVT), Translation of Religious Texts, Simultaneous and Consecutive Interpreting, Translation Theories, Translation and Technology, and more.

Career Opportunities & Academic Pathways

Graduates are prepared to work as professional translators or interpreters for government departments, private sector companies, international organizations, and as freelancers. Specific roles include localization specialist for software and gaming industries, audiovisual translator (subtitling, dubbing), legal and technical translation specialist. The degree also provides a strong foundation for pursuing MA and PhD in Translation Studies, leading to academic careers as university professors or senior researchers in translation theory and practice.
